Angela White’s Streak Ends
“You know what they say about all good things! While we don’t see Angela White’s overall popularity dimming anytime soon, we do think that 2019 might spell an end to her epic streak atop the pornstar rankings. (She’s hit 78 straight weeks as of this writing.) History shows that such streaks are usually halted by external events. For instance, Julia Ann’s record-setting pornstar streak ended when Jessica Drake’s Donald Trump controversy snared headlines in 2016. It’s probably just a matter of time before a new star steals her way into that top spot, even if White is likely to remain in the upper popularity echelons for the foreseeable future.” (Dallas)

“Most sites are reporting a growth in women viewers over the last few years and that seems like a trend that is going to continue to be on the rise! Between 2018/2019 Adult Empire saw a +13.2% growth in new female viewers compared to a +2.0% rise in new male viewers. Currently, women claim 18.6% of the viewership at AE and I predict that will hit at least a 23% share, if not a bold statement of 25% in 2020.
With the rise of women viewers, I wouldn’t be too surprised to see a shift in the movies and categories in the coming years. Women supporting women is an underlying movement that is spreading throughout the porn industry. Thanks to the pioneer Candida Royalle, who started out as one of the first porn stars turned directors bringing a women’s viewpoint to porn in the 1980s. AVN Nominated six women directors this year, congratulations to Joanna Angel, Kay Brandt, Kayden Kross, Bree Mills, Jacky St. James, and Missa X.
Joanna Angel is a female director to watch in 2020, receiving over 15 director credits at AE and 15 AVN nominees for Burning Angel Entertainment titles like Three Cheers for Satan and Insomniac this studio is in for a hot year next year!” (Quinn)
