The label has become notorious for its envelope-pushing scenarios, all while smartly acknowledging that the plots they present should be treated strictly as fantasy. “Pure Taboo storylines reflect real-world circumstances that, while socially unacceptable, still have that undercurrent of titillation,” as Bree Mills eloquently put it when Pure Taboo launched. The label debuted with Half His Age, a complicated, startling drama about a coach whose affair with a student results in a blackmail scheme. Kristen Scott, playing a manipulative cheerleader, and Charles Dera, as the pervy but oddly appealing coach, are in some of their strongest form ever here, thanks to off-kilter source material to bring out their considerable sexual and acting talents.

The Walking Dead: A Hardcore Parody
This parody became embroiled in an absurd, overblown media furor when it was first released, but hiding behind that faux controversy you’ll find a wildly entertaining spoof of one of TV’s most popular shows. Slow, lumbering zombies may not seem like a natural match to the high-energy nature of Burning Angel, yet Joanna Angel and friends manage to spin the material into a sexy, violent romp through all your favorite “walking dead” tropes. The makeup is impressive, too, and even surprisingly unsettling at times (see the movie’s zombie images if you don’t believe us). Interestingly, Norman Reedus, the actor who plays Daryl in the movie’s mainstream inspiration, gave Walking Dead: A Hardcore Parody a thumbs-up in a promotional Q&A in 2014.

Rocco’s Coming In America
For many contemporary United States-based pornstars, shooting a scene with Italian legend Rocco Siffredi is a long-sought, elusive dream. Since Rocco is based in Europe (and frequently flirts with retirement), it can be sometimes difficult for American stars to pin down that much-desired shoot with him. Girls Under Arrest Vol. 1
If you were always disappointed that officious broadcast TV standards resulted in those annoying pixels on top of nudity in Cops, Girls Under Arrest is the series for you! Adult Time pulls off the pixels — and everything else — in this entertaining, creative spin on cop reality shows. We see favorite male pornstars playing cops who bust delinquents and then offer them a provocative proposal: they can go to prison and sully their permanent record, or they can submit to the cops’ lascivious desires. It’s a goofy premise that seems like it would quickly turn corny, but the filmmakers somehow manage to walk the line between humor and sexiness without descending into outright camp. The nature of the setup also allows each scene to play in a fun sandbox of popular sex themes, including BDSM touches like handcuffs and submissive/dominant dynamics. Whatcha gonna do when they come for you, indeed.
