Katya Rodriguez: Sister Veronica ‘Helped Me and Guided Me to Join the Porn Industry’
Everyone needs someone to look up to! For pornstar Katya Rodriguez, it was her older sister, Veronica. Katya idolized her sibling to such a degree that she even followed sis into the “family business”: porn! The energetic newbie chatted with Adult DVD Talk‘s Captain Jack about the importance of her sister’s influence on her life and career.
Born in Mexico but raised in Chicago, the younger Rodriguez started out camming before moving to Los Angeles to kick off her porn career. Her sister had already become an established player in the industry, a fact that caused consternation in the Rodriguez family, albeit not with Kayta herself. “When I found out, I had no problem with it, all the family members did but I personally did not. I didn’t really care,” Katya said. However, checking out her sister’s movies was another story. “I didn’t really watch her porn, that was weird for me. I had my own favorite porn stars,” she said. (Holly Michaels was near the top of Katya’s list.)
Initially, Veronica was taken aback by her sister’s career choice. “I wanted to make sure that this is what I really wanted to do. Then I told her and she was, ‘Wow!’ She was shocked but she helped me. She was a little mad but she helped me out,” Kayta said. “[She] helped me and guided me to join the porn industry. She did not force me and she did not say, ‘Hey! You have to do porn!’ I reached out to her. She gave me good advice and I like it.”
Six years Veronica’s junior, Katya resembles her sister but has developed her own unique groove in terms of movies and scenes. Not yet 21 years old, Katya caught many fans’ eyes with her cover-shot performance in It’s The Girl Next Door 3 and other movies that emphasized her youthful appearance. In addition, Veronica has made a move away from B/G scenes, something that Kayta continues to enthusiastically embrace. The two both appear in ArchAngel‘s Pour It On Vol. 2 but in separate scenes.
