2014 Feminist Porn Awards Winners Announced

Traditionally, porn and feminism have not been closely linked. Who could forget Erica Jong’s famous comment: “My reaction to porno films is as follows: After the first ten minutes, I want to go home and screw. After the first twenty minutes, I never want to screw again as long as I live.”

Nevertheless, there is a growing feminist contingent who assume a more accepting posture regarding adult entertainment (take sociologist Chauntelle Tibbals’s PVV Online reviews, for example). The Feminist Porn Awards, sponsored by Toronto’s Good For Her erotica boutique, are one of the most prominent instances of the new attitude. The 2014 awards were announced April 4.
