Jessie Rogers: 2024 Adult Empire Comeback Pornstar of the Year

Jessie Rogers‘s arrival on the porn scene was like a thunderbolt: startling, impressive, and gone in a flash. Porn fans who missed her after she receded from the industry in 2013 got a welcome surprise when she returned to shooting last year. Her dazzling success in independent content and studio shoots has paved the way to her win as the 2024 Adult Empire Comeback Star of the Year. We chatted with Rogers about the award win, the reasons for her comeback, and much more. (See the full interview at the bottom of this post.)

Adult Empire: What was your reaction to being named 2024 Comeback Pornstar of the Year?

Jessie Rogers: I was surprised, but I was happy. And then I went to go pick [the award] up, I was surprised that it was a lot bigger than I thought it would be, too. So, yeah, it’s really cool. I’m very grateful that I get to be called Comeback Star of the Year, because I have been putting in a lot of work, so it’s cool to be recognized for that, definitely.

If the award entailed an acceptance speech, who would you thank?

Well, definitely, business-wise, everyone that I’ve worked with, Erika [Icon], my publicist, she’s been very helpful. The agency that I’m with now, ATMLA, I think they have also been very helpful. All of the companies that I’ve shot for, all of the people that I’ve shot with. Yeah, so I would definitely thank all of those people, because every shoot that I do, or every step that I take in my career, it’s like getting me a little bit further. And I definitely, I don’t think I would be able to do all of that alone.

What caused your retirement from the industry?

it was a mixture of things. I think I did too much, too fast. So I had three different agents. I had the first agent that recruited me, and then I had another agent who I felt couldn’t really keep up with my bookings. There was one time where he booked three shoots in a day and we ended up having to cancel two. And I just felt like everything was very unorganized. So I went with another agent, who, to me, looked more organized because he had a lot of big-name girls, which he was, but he was also, I don’t know how to describe without cussing — he was an asshole. When I wanted a day off — he somehow manipulated me into going to a shoot when I had a full blown yeast infection, and I was trying to get out of it, and he pushed me to still go.

So it was just like, little things like that that kind of started pushing me over the edge. And then I had a few bad experiences that were like icing on the cake. And then I was under contract. I had a five-year contract with him, which I didn’t obviously did not complete. So in my head, I was like, well, I could be miserable in this contract, or I could just quit and go explore other things in life.

What did you do during your hiatus, and what prompted your comeback?

At first I went to school. I enrolled in school. I was still kind of doing stuff on social media. I had a Twitch channel. But then I eventually withdrew from all of social media, too, because people on Twitch are more mean than people on Twitter. So then I just kind of enjoyed living a private life for a few years. And I always thought in the back of my head, like, “Oh, what if I tried doing this again? I’m more mature now. I’m more mentally strong.” And I still had my twitch channel, and so then I started dabbling with it again. And eventually people in the chat started asking me about OnlyFans. And I was like, okay, let me look into this. And eventually that led into me doing OnlyFans and coming back.

Was it difficult to get back into hardcore mode?

I didn’t dive right into everything. I told myself, okay, I’m going to dip my toes and see what I feel comfortable doing. I basically did the thing on Twitch for a few months first, and then I started shooting solos on OnlyFans for a few months. And then I just did girl/girl. I just did girl/girl on solo for about two and a half years before I started shooting with guys again, which was the absolute opposite of what the first time in my career. And then I shot my boy/girl comeback with Mike Adriano. So I shot with him. I did an OnlyFan scene with him first, and then a day later, I shot with him for his company. And he’s somebody that I’ve always felt comfortable with. So yeah, no regrets.

What’s next for you?

I definitely want to keep pushing forward. Right now is award season, so I’m kind of focusing on that. I’m preparing to go to AVN in Vegas in January. I’ve actually never done an expo before. Last year I got nominated, and I was like 50/50 chance going to go, but I ended up chickening out. I didn’t plan things well enough. So this year, I was like, okay, I’m gonna plan everything ahead of time, so I don’t have any excuse to back out last minute. And then just, you know, keep growing on social media, I would like to produce more content, more content on the higher budget side, because I’ve shot a lot of amateur style content, like with static shots and stuff like that. So over this next year, I would like to focus more on producing content with a videographer and the best makeup artists and wardrobe and all that stuff. So scratching my creative itch in addition to my sexual itch.
