We’ve all done something on impulse, whether it was a petty indiscretion or major move. You see an opportunity, and without thinking about it too much, you pounce. In this world of chance encounters, you’ll find Dorcel’s Impulses series (or Pulsions, as it’s known in the original French). It kicked off in 2020, promising stars whose “sexual impulses are so strong that they will do anything to satisfy them.” Volume seven offers five porn vignettes featuring characters who, to paraphrase Oscar Wilde, conquer temptation by yielding to it. Adding to the allure, Dorcel and director Franck Vicomte make sure that all the sexy byplay takes place in beautiful sun-soaked locations.
Scene highlights
Of all of Impulse‘s impulses, the most compelling comes in scene two. The premise is not elaborate, but it paves the way for movie’s most powerful chemistry. Mariska plays a bored vacationer who spots a cute waiter (Alex Romero) while she’s relaxing near the pool. Bold and confident, she asks him to join her in her hotel room once his shift is over. “Twenty minutes?” he asks. “Forty,” she responds. The extra minutes gives Mariska (and the audience) time to prepare for the spine-tingling hookup to come. She slips into lingerie and lathers her skin with moisturizer, offering ample chance to soak up her signature curves. When Alex knocks, he and Mariska don’t hesitate, quickly proving the maxim that vacation sex is always the best sex. It’s also a nice touch that everyone at the poolside is staring blankly into their phones when the scene begins. This subtly underlines a contrast with Mariska and Alex, who decide life’s best pleasures are not those mediated by computer screens.
The movie opens with a spontaneous video call from Poppy Pleasure to her ex-lover (Jimmy Bud). Her new boyfriend is kind and supportive — but deathly dull in bed. Perhaps Jimmy would like one last fling? After some tempting persuasion from Poppy, including a few naughty pics, Jimmy recruits a friend (Kristof Cale) to join Poppy for a threesome. Poppy tames both dicks, at times alternating one in her mouth and one in her hand, before splashing her cheeks with cum.
Scene three also features threesomes and infidelity, albeit with an entirely different emotional timbre. Afresh from the revelation of a cheating boyfriend, Milan Cheek seeks consolation from friends Candie Luciani and Alex Romero. They assure her that he’s a fool for straying from such an obviously gorgeous sex partner. In fact, they’d like to make her feel better by inviting her into their own bedroom. As in scene two, the uniqueness of the performers buoys the action. Luciani’s angular features look like they were chiseled out of stone, making her one of the most striking stars I’ve encountered in a long time. She pairs well with Romero’s sensitivity and boyish good looks to help Milan promptly forget her straying ex.
In scene four, Veronica Leal and Shalina Devine encounter each other as they sunbathe topless on an isolated beach. After some initial tension over their ruined privacy, they realize that chance has give them a stupendously sexy opportunity. Their lovemaking takes on a stylized, theatrical quality as waves crash behind them and wind whips through their hair.
The movie’s fifth and final scene opens with a tour of a spacious city apartment, courtesy handsome real estate agent Kristof Cale. One prospective buyer (Angel Black) hints at her true intent when she asks how good the bedroom’s soundproofing is. Later, after all the other visitors have left, she returns to the apartment to ask Kristof if she can test the bed. He agrees — provided he can test it with her. Though probably the most conventional of the movie’s five scenes, this final segment boasts a thrilling final passage of heavily explicit reverse-cowgirl fun.

Why we love Impulses #7
I’m taking my cues from Impulses’ characters and following my gut. On a visceral level, I always know that Dorcel and its reliable stable of porn directors will provide a thoroughly satisfying porn experience. The studio has certainly shifted in the past several years, focusing more intently on a brand of globetrotting glam erotica that’s become fashionable across numerous other imprints. It’s less overtly gallic and more cosmopolitan in its reach and tone. Impulses provides an appealing mix of familiar faces (Mariska) and newer talent (Milan Cheek) to keep the scenarios fresh. It’s a movie that arouses in concept, execution, and reflection. For once, you won’t regret acting on Impulses.
