Cali Caliente Interview: First DP, ‘Sally Mae’ & More
Cali Caliente doesn’t plan to shoot porn forever, so fans need to savor her new performances as they would a rare delicacy. As a student of business, Caliente certainly grasps the nuances of supply and demand. She released another blockbuster when her Elegant Angel DP debuted on Adult Empire earlier this month. She delves into this and much, much more in our new Adult Empire interview!
Your AVN profile mentions that you studied business management in college. What were the most practical lessons you learned from that?
Supply and demand. Basically the most important thing I learned is that the best way to be successful in business is to create a product or service that can be used to fill a void for the consumer. Create something the consumer can’t find any where else.
An all-natural look is one of your trademarks. Do fans ever pressure you to depart from that? If so, how do you usually respond to them?
I actually think that I get more pressure to stay natural. Whenever I mention getting surgery people tell me I don’t need it.
Talk about getting into the throwback, 1970s vibe of Sally Mae: Revenge Of The Twin Dragons.
Shooting Sally Mae was a fun experience for me. I got to work with some really big names. People I had been wanting to work with for years so it was nice to finally be on set with some of my favorites. I felt really accomplished and the scenes came out great.
What’s one of your biggest guilty pleasures?
I would have to say food. I’m a big foodie.
Name some current pornstars whose work and careers your particularly admire.
That’s a hard one for me. I’m at a point in my career where I don’t admire anyone in particular. There are a lot of great performers but admire is a strong word . . . I feel like a lot of new performers are gimmicky and I just can’t relate.
Talk about shooting your first DP for Elegant Angel.
It was such an amazing experience. I couldn’t have picked a better crew to shoot with. The guys were very gentle with me and to be honest I appreciate it so much. The feeling was unlike anything I’ve ever experienced before and I can’t wait to do it again and again.
What other firsts do you hope to perform on camera in the near future?
I would really like to shoot an anal gangbang some time soon. I’d also like to shoot a bondage scene and a scene where I get kidnapped and completely wrecked.
What’s something you want your fans to know about you?
I’m not sure how much longer I’ll be shooting porn so I hope they follow me wherever I go next.
Any movies, TV shows, books, music, etc. you’re loving lately?
I recently got into Euphoria and I’m looking forward to season two.
What keeps you sexually motivated? Not only for performing, but outside of work as well.
My sex drive is pretty high so I really don’t need to be motivated when it comes to sex. I love it so much.
Is there a type of scene you want to perform that you haven’t yet? Or a performer you’d love to work with?
At this point I just want to be featured. Like a whole showcase of my talent. There are a few people I’d love to work with but at this point all the ones I’ve really wanted to work with I already have. Of course my show case would include some of our favorites.
What do you want fans to get out of your performances? How would you like to be viewed as performer and in the industry?
If you’ve been following my career for a while then you know that I’m big on authenticity. I know that porn is acting but I want people to view me as real and rare. I like to provide my audience with an experience that they can’t find any where else. I just want to leave my mark on the industry as a genuine performer and a game changer.
What does a typical day look like for you? I usually wake up pretty early. I walk my dog and check my fan sites and workout. If I’m not preparing for set I find fun ways to entertain myself at home. I’m basically a home body.
