‘Ryder Skye Has Lost Count of Her Porn Scenes’ (VIDEO)

Some jobs have a rote quality that means the days and tasks all blur together into one. You might not think that category would include the profession of pornstar, but the sheer scale of the scenes they shoot sometimes also means it all blends together. Veteran performer Ryder Skye discusses this aspect of pornstar life, while also contemplating the chemistry she shared with her most frequent co-stars.

Dallas: Do you know exactly how many scenes you’ve shot, or have you completely lost track at this point?

Ryder: I have lost track, but I think it’s in the 250 range? Two-fifty, 300, something like that. Yeah, but I don’t know for sure. It’s somewhere in between. It might be in between there, probably. But then I’ve been saying that for, like, the past two years, so . . . [laughs]
Dallas: Right! Because I was looking through your IAFD profile, which of course has your filmography on it, and I was trying to figure out who your most frequent co-stars are. So do you know that offhand? I can tell you what it was on IAFD. Now, whether that’s accurate or not, I’m not sure.

Ryder: Oh, my most frequent co-stars?

Dallas: Yeah, your most frequent scene partners, I guess I should say.

Ryder: The people I’ve worked with the most — I mean, it’s weird, because I feel like my earlier scenes, I worked with the same people over and over again. Like, a lot of the same people. And then I feel like it started to be more differently sporadic, just like different people almost all the time. But the most? I don’t . . . like a long time ago, they put me with Barrett Blade almost ever single scene. And that was for Wicked, because I do so many Wicked movies once upon a time. And I know that for sure I worked with him a lot, but since then, James Deen I worked with a bunch of times. I don’t know who else!

Dallas: Well, Barrett Blade was at the top of the list, according to what I saw on IAFD, which of course is not necessarily comprehensive, but that corresponds with your memory.

Ryder: Yeah, that was funny, because it was like every single scene I would get, I was like working with Barret. And it was funny — I was married at the time and he was married at the time, and we both called each other . . . he called me “wifey” on camera. So I was like his on-camera wife, because we kept getting scenes together. And then my ex-husband and his ex-wife, we all started hanging out together. It was actually pretty funny. We’re all good friends.

Dallas: Now, if somebody took those however many scenes you shot with Barrett Blade and watched them in sequence, would they notice an evolution in terms of your interpersonal chemistry in those sequences? Does it evolve?

Ryder: Probably? I don’t know, actually. That’s a good question. I would say that I’m sure that it did, because we had become friends. There probably was a certain level of comfort that, you know, I started to have with him as far as just being someone I was used to working with, so I’m sure that there is. I never thought about that, though, actually. Now I’m kind of curious, although I don’t watch my scenes, though. [Laughs] But if I did, I would actually do this research, because I’m actually curious.

Dallas: Right? It would make for an interesting little playlist, so to speak. Kind of like on iTunes you put together your ’70s playlist? You could put together the Barrett Blade playlist.
