‘Pornstar Siri Dahl Discusses Her Name Change’ (VIDEO)
As most porn fans know, busty pornstar Siri returned to the world of adult entertainment last year after a long hiatus. She’s changed and grown in the intervening time, of course, meaning the person you see in her 2020 shoots is an evolved version of the one we knew and loved from 2014. One thing very pointedly represents these changes: Siri has expanded her stage name, going from plain “Siri” to Siri Dahl! Siri: So I just added a last name to my stage name. I announced that change in early August. It was really for a couple reasons. I think it helps differentiate my new work from the old work. And also it just makes SEO — it makes finding me online a lot easier.
Dallas: Right, because if I’m remembering correctly, you chose your original stage name before the famous Apple Siri kind of brewed up, right?
Siri: Yeah! Well, it was kind of like — by the time I made the stage name, made a Twitter account, all of that stuff, all in like June of 2011 . . . and by the time that my first porn scenes had actually been edited and released, then the iPhone with Siri had been out by then, it looked like I had just gone, “Oh, I’m going to copy that,” but that’s not how it actually happened. But nevertheless, obviously the robot Siri is more popular. So it’s made it hard to find certain things of mine. For a long time, the only way you could find me was if you searched “Siri the pornstar” — all three of those words together. When I took a break and came back, I was like, “You know what — I think maybe I’ll just add a last name, because it’ll just streamline everything and make it easier.”
Dallas: So I assume if you had to go back and start all over again, you would choose a completely different name, based on the confusion that you’re saying there with the Apple product?
Siri: Yeah, if I went back in time and had known that that was going to happen, then yes, I would have to avoid any confusion or copyright issues. I’ve never had problems with that, probably because I can prove that I have accounts first. And it is also a real name. But yeah, it’s too late now.
Dallas: I hadn’t thought about that — the legal implications! That’s a whole other kettle of fish, isn’t it? I know some pornstars have run afoul of that where they had to change their name because company X, Y, Z stipulated as such.
