Romi Rain Goes Blond!
A change in hairstyle can have a surprisingly dramatic impact on a person’s behavior and attitude. Adopt a conservative look, and it won’t be too surprising if you begin behaving in a more buttoned-down, conservative manner. Try out a wild new ‘do, and you might find yourself channeling flamboyant aspects of your personality that you didn’t even know were there. Given that pornstars’ careers often hinge a great deal on their overall look and personality, it’s not surprising that many performers change their hairstyle or color dramatically at times. Classic bombshell blonde Nikki Benz, for instance, switched to brunette a few years ago, before reverting to her original blond. Romi Rain, the latest start to adopt a dramatic change, has gone in the opposite direction: from her quintessential brunette to a smoldering blonde!
She announced the switch in a fun video tweet, which used some nifty special effects to dramatize the change (click the image to view the original tweet in full)
Changes such as this are often seen as rebranding. As clinical psychologist Aimee Daramus told Well + Good, “[Dying your hair] can be a part of branding, to present a certain image. Sometimes, though, it’s an identity shift. It can be as simple as ‘winter me’ to ‘summer me’, or as complex as going from being a student to a professional or from being in a relationship to being single. It can be really fun to think about what you’re saying about yourself when you change your color.”
It’s all just a matter of taste, of course, but we’re loving Romi’s new look! We’ll be curious whether see her first scenes shot as a blonde exhibit a different feel from those she’s shot as a brunette. Her latest tweets suggest that may well be the case!
