Porn Movie Review: ‘The Seductress’

Sex appeal is a powerful force, with the capacity to make people completely ignore their better judgment. Just think of all the influential figures in the world who have tainted their lives with scandal simply because they could not resist sex appeal’s hypnotic power. In Sweet Sinner‘s The Seductress, newly available on DVD at Adult Empire, Kiara Cole‘s character knows how to weaponize her sex appeal. Her bewitching presence brings out the deepest desires of everyone she encounters, resulting in the series of four love scenes that make up the movie. It’s another nuanced effort from writer/director Jacky St. James, who continues demonstrate her skill as a filmmaker even when working with themes less overtly spectacular than those in movies like the Emma Marx series.

The Seductress opens as Kiara is moving in with the family of a friend (Jane Wilde) for the summer. It’s obvious that Wilde is keen to make a good impression on Kiara, whose confidence she admires. As scene one unfurls, we are momentarily fooled into thinking that it will be a quick seduction of Jane by Kiara, but the sequence quickly pivots to a steamy flashback of Kiara losing her virginity. (It may not be an entirely accurate flashback, though, as the movie establishes that Kiara is not necessarily a reliable narrator.) The scene permits the movie momentarily to move out of the territory of erotica drama and into the more conventional domain of teacher/student porn.

Ever wily, Kiara escapes the burden of a hiking trip by feigning a migraine, so that she can snoop around Jane’s house a bit. She spies on Jane’s father as he is coaxed into an affair with a photoshoot model (LaSirena69 in a brief but memorable role). Dad begins to realize that Kiara’s seductive presence in the house is one further temptation he doesn’t need, but his wife is unwilling to boot Kiara out. Meanwhile, after Jane returns from the hiking trip, she realizes that she may have to try a psychological gambit of her own if she wants to bed Kiara.

St. James’s story provides just enough plot to give the action extra meaning, without allowing it to become overly burdened with talky exposition. Ultimately, her canny script and expert casting are just as much the “seductress” of the piece as the title character is! The movie is well worth a watch, particularly for fans of Jane Wilde and Kiara Cole, both of whom are given plenty of juicy material.
