Silicone-Based

Why We Like It!

  • Hypoallergenic, inert, and non-toxic; doesn’t absorb into the skin
  • Ideal use for sexual intercourse; slicker & lasts longer than water-based
  • Great for water-play like in the shower or the pool; but can be messy due to it doesn’t wash away as easily as water-based lube.
  • Latex Condom compatible (but be safe & check labels)

Tips for Picking the Right One:

  • Like they say, less is more! Choose something with three or four ingredients
  • DO NOT use with silicone-based sex toys; can warp silicone material

.

Hybrid Lubes

Why We Like It!

  • Typically water-based lube with a small amount of silicone (around 12%)
  • Improved performance versus straight water-based lube
  • Latex Condom compatible (but be safe & check labels)
  • Usually safe with silicone toys (but be safe & check labels)

Plant / Oil Lubes

Why We Like It!

  • Gentle and hydrating
  • Often 100% organic
  • Lasts longer than water-based lubes
  • Compatible with sex toys
  • No pH; means very vagina friendly

Tips for Picking the Right One:

  • Look for plant-based designed for lube (coconut oil, cocoa butter, shea butter, and aloe vera)
