‘Divine’ Debuts on VOD (Exclusive 4K Movie + Jessica Drake Interview)

As an angel in Fallen II, Jessica Drake showed that she was sent from heaven. In her latest blockbuster, she demonstrates that she is truly Divine!

The new movie from Wicked Pictures and director Brad Armstrong, available on Adult Empire as a VOD exclusive (through 9/5/19), is a tremendous showcase for Drake, who continues to find new avenues of sexual expression even after two decades in the business.

“I am at the point in my career where I make movies that I want to make because they either make a statement or they make people think,” Drake told Adult Empire in a new in-depth video interview (see below). “When we started with the idea for Divine, it actually started by watching some really high-end lingerie fashion shows and commercials [ . . . ] We did a series of really artistic vignettes with some truly amazing sex.”

While Drake doesn’t appear in every scene (Avi Love, Vicki Chase, and other stars also get moments to shine), she does grab some of the movie’s highlight moments. “One of my favorite scenes in Divine is with Chanel Santini, who I had really been wanting to work with. We did a beautiful cherry-blossom scene. It was very dreamy and pink, and also a massive contrast to a scene that I did with Will Havoc and Small Hands.” (The latter scene takes a harder edge with a spy theme, featuring a snazzy McLaren sports car.)

The movie also afforded Drake her first-ever one-on-one scene with charismatic star Sean Michaels (their only other scene together was a group-sex jaunt in Carnal). He did not disappoint, drawing comparisons to some of the industry’s best current and past performers.. “I would put Sean in the same category as I would put someone like Asa Akira. And before Asa, Sydnee Steele. And you know who else I would put in that category? Angela White. When you work with someone like that, their sole focus is on you. You feel like you are the only person in their world. And they’re giving you all of their sexual energy and attention,” Drake said.

Michaels’s charm wasn’t the only reason the scene ended up so sweet, though. “It’s sort of like a romantic, seduction scene. I have a heart-shaped box with chocolate-covered cherries in it. And they were laughing at me because apparently I really needed a snack, so I was just eating them when we were shooting,” Drake joked.

Like Drake’s prior hits, Fallen and its sequel, Divine hints at certain celestial themes, albeit in a subtle way. “I think that if you’re watching them all, you’ll definitely see some similarities and some tie-ins. Some will be more obvious, and some are way more subliminal. Some are consciously put into each movie, and others just happened,” Drake said.

And what of the lofty branding of “Wicked Masterpiece” that adorns the movie’s cover? “We started putting that up at the top to increase awareness because folks really like labels, they like to know what they’re getting into,” Drake said. “But I think it qualifies as a ‘masterpiece’! I think that Brad Armstrong definitely created this masterpiece. I was lucky enough to be the featured star, but as was all of the cast. So I don’t necessarily think that it’s one person at the helm here. I think our amazing crew and our amazing editor, those are the people that really enable all our movies to be masterpieces. When everything hits on all cylinders, then call it what it is!”
