Brett Rossi Retires
Brett Rossi successfully reinvented herself several times throughout a long and interesting porn career, but nine years after her debut, she is ready to call it quits. In a tweet posted on Monday, she announced her retirement from the industry.
She cited a desire to strike out in a new direction as the primary reason for withdrawing from the industry. “When I decided to finally have the courage, the strength, and the dedication to finally chase the dreams I’ve dreamt no obstacle, opinion or challenge matter to me. The only thing that mattered to me was the drive and dire need for change in my life,” Rossi said in the tweet. “In the last year I have changed . . . I deeply needed privacy. I deeply needed a purpose, I deeply needed a new life.”
Though Rossi’s tweet did not directly state her new intended career path, several passages implied a resumption of Rossi’s prior career as a nurse. “I’ll hold the hands of individuals who will take their last breath and bring new innocent lives to take their first sips of air,” Rossi said.
Many porn heavyweights wished Rossi well. “Feed your soul, girl!” responded Cherie DeVille, while Rossi compatriot and co-star Megan Rain enthused, “I love you so much! Rossi began her career at the famous Playboy Mansion before becoming Penthouse Pet, Playboy Cyber Girl, and porn contract star in rapid succession. While her early porn work consisted solely of girl/girl scenes, she eventually pivoted to boy/girl movies, too, starting with My Sister’s Husband. After temporarily retiring from the industry, Rossi became involved with Charlie Sheen in a tabloid-fodder relationship that would come to define the middle portion of her career. She shook off the scandalous headlines to launch a porn comeback in 2015.
