Chelsea’s Tips For Anal Prep

Adult Empire sex toy/novelty guru Chelsea expands on her answer from the first edition of “Ask Adult Empire” to give you more info about anal prep.

How to prep for anal sex isn’t just to make sure you’re clean. Yeah, of course that’s the main thing you think of is hygiene, but prepping your hole is MAJOR.

These are the steps to prepping…

1.       Don’t go in cold turkey without talking to your partner about it, giver or receiver.

2.       If receiver, get yourself a toy to train your body and open up your hole gradually over time.

3.       GET LUBE

4.       The hygiene part: Go #2, light enema use and a rinse of the hole

5.       Relax, be confident and enjoy it!

The Partner Chat

So to start off, both you and your partner should chat about anal sex. Make it fun! Look into interesting positions (don’t jump in and act like you’re porn stars), inform each other of what you want to try, and speak openly sexually. This is even more important when in the act, explaining how deep, fast, and so on.

Training

Get yourself some anal beads or an anal trainer plug set. They are super basic, yet great sex toys to experiment with because they most often inexpensive and have a variety of shapes, colors, and materials to choose from as you graduate to a penis on your anal adventure. Beginner or advanced, these are exactly what you think of when you hear the words anal beads or trainer set. So, start with a slight gradual increase set of beads or plug. As the beads or plug girth start to get larger, you’re allowing yourself to get used to the toy. You don’t want to jump into anything too advanced too quickly. That would just simply make for an un-pleasurable anal experience, and we can’t have that!

The Lube

A mistake people often make, and I know I did when I first tried anal, is not lubing up what I was sticking in there, whether it be a body part or toy. Really coat what’s going in as well as your hole so that you’re well lubricated. It’s a tight hole back there that is gripping around a toy, so you don’t want to hit a dry spot and cause discomfort or tearing. With the mention of lube your body will tighten and tense up if you are not relaxed making insertion hard to do. Yes, you can use a desensitizing cream to relax your sphincter, and yes, desensitizing creams and gels take away pain in order to avoid ruining a potentially splendid anal play moment. The desensitizing ingredients take the sting out immediately allowing you to continue gaining the pleasure without the pain. However, If anal play is causing you pain you should know about it. Pain is a great way for your body to say “not that way, thank you very much”. The pain may be a signal that slight tearing or other damage may be occurring. Listen to it and try a different position, slow down and use lots of lube. PLEASE! (Browse lubes >>)

The Hygiene

Yes, some people are spontaneous and jump right into anal sex. If you really know your body, especially your digestive system, the spontaneity is understood. For others, they want the 100% reassurance that no, let’s just say #2, causes a big mess or embarrassment. You can do the easy clean where you simply just wash your hole with a mild soap and water or even baby wipes a half hour or so before play time. Make sure to keep things hypoallergenic or unscented. You don’t want to cause irritation before getting it on! If you want a little more confidence you can do the good old deep cleaning. Deep cleaning calls for an enema/douche about an hour or 2 before intercourse. They even make nozzles now that screw onto an everyday bottle of water for a makeshift douche anytime you need it! What a great invention. You can douche the night before as well if you’d like. Use warm water and that’s it, making sure it’s not too hot. You can do this on your elbows and knees or while lying on your side. Stick the nozzle up your hole, open the valve or squeeze the bulb, hold the water for 10-15 seconds and release it into the toilet or shower. You can repeat this a few times if you like. A couple squirts over the toilet or in the shower will get you good and clean. Make sure not to overdo it though! If you use too much water it can stimulate your digestive system and just cause a mess. With that being said, understand that you are just rinsing out six to eight inches of the rectum. The rectum should not be holding anything unless you are frequently going #2 or haven’t in a while. That’s why it’s best to deep clean a few hours before. The time will also help since water can get trapped in the folds of the rectum and take a little time to come out. Totally normal!

RELAX!

You may tighten up a bit, but just remember to relax. Try masturbating, getting into some foreplay, or have you or your partner stimulate the outside of your hole with a vibrating toy, finger or whatever you choose! This will help relax the nerve endings and let you chill out your hole and help you with insertion.
