‘Jessica Drake Is Wicked’ Debuts

You might think that after 18 years in the business, Jessica Drake would have already done it all.

You’d be wrong!

Despite a remarkable career as a performer, director and educator, Drake has left several famous porn scenarios undone . . . until now! Her blockbuster new showcase, Jessica Drake Is Wicked, contains some firsts: first interracial and trans-sex scene. And if that’s not already enough to leave you breathless, check out the cast list for the movie: Angela White, Abella Danger, Anikka Albrite, Vicki Chase, Venus Lux, Ryan Driller . . . and that’s only a small slice. The official blurb promises to “bring you the most epic Star Showcase Movie in adult entertainment,” and for once, such a statement seems far from overblown ad copy.

Any movie with all that action and star power already has plenty going for it, but Drake also sought to give the effort a reflective side. “This showcase, directed by Brad Armstrong, features highly stylized vignettes, each with a different theme,” Drake said in an AVN article about the DVD. “I consider it to be one of the most introspective movies I’ve ever made. I challenge the viewer to dismantle their views about what porn is and who the performers are. It’s definitely a statement piece, and I’m forever grateful to Wicked Pictures for disrupting stereotypes and for supporting films which create dialogue about human sexuality. In addition to making a movie unlike anything i’ve ever done, we’re also shooting documentary-style behind the scenes footage and interviews as well, to further capture the nuances of the production and the diversity of everyone involved, while pulling back the curtain to allow the public to see a better representation of our industry than mainstream media has offered in the past.”

In addition to the numerous Jessica Drake firsts, the movie also boasts a significant milestone for Wicked itself. “In our 25-year history, this film has the very first trans scene that Wicked has ever done,” Drake told AVN. “A transgender scene was something that I’ve always wanted to do, but when I initially pitched it, we [Drake and partner Brad Armstrong] weren’t sure if it was in alignment with the company and the brand, because we’re branded as a heteronormative, softer company. But I think, as time goes on, you really can’t generalize the type of porn that people want to see, and it’s really hard to put people in boxes.”
