Stormy Daniels Becomes Penthouse’s Pet of the Century
There have been many notable Penthouse Pets since 2000. The roster includes familiar names like Tera Patrick, Briana Banks, Chanel Preston, Lana Rhoades, and dozens more. The more exclusive list of Pets honored as Pet of the Year also features legendary names: Sunny Leone, Nikki Benz, Nicole Aniston, Lexi Belle, and others. Yet there’s one star who stands out to such a degree that she has now been named Penthouse Pet of the Century: Stormy Daniels.
“Throughout my porn life there have been been some accomplishments that have had a huge impact for me emotionally as well as direct impact on my overall career. Such accomplishments have all been dreams come true. This year as you all know has been crazy but this title is something very special to me and I will cherish it forever,” said in a press release announcing the news. It is the first such title bestowed by Penthouse, which did not name a Penthouse Pet of the Century in 2000 for its first “century” (the 1965-1999 period). Stormy will feature in a new pictorial in the magazine’s May issue.
“We are really excited to have Stormy back on the cover of the magazine,” Penthouse CEO Kelly Holland told the Daily Beast. “She was a Penthouse Pet back in 2007, so we have a history with Stormy, and she has a good relationship with us.” It was yet another coup for Penthouse, which has taken on the role of leading men’s adult magazine in the wake of Playboy’s evolving brand identity.
It was also another win for Stormy Daniels herself. After a period where it seemed like Daniels’s greatest glory days were likely over, she has suddenly returned to status as the best-known pornstar in the world. While it would be difficult to say that any scandal as trying and painful as the Donald Trump affair could be a positive for the star, it certainly has provided an interesting wrinkle to the career of one of the defining stars of porn’s contract-girl era.
