‘Family Holiday’ Takes a Perverse Look at Family Gatherings
And you thought your holiday gathering was awkward.
Any movie that features Tommy Gunn wearing a classic Christmas “ugly sweater” has to be a fun one, and Jacky St. James‘s Family Holiday doesn’t disappoint. It takes the familiar family roleplay genre, charges it up with a complex, overlapping combination of relationships, and adds a Christmas setting to make things all the more perverse.
“Family gatherings during the holidays can be pretty stressful, inappropriate and hilarious, when you toss sexual attraction into the mix you get Family Holiday,” St. James said in a press release published on XBIZ. “It’s a very enticing story thanks to amazing performances by our talented cast that dove head first into this erotic world of drama and attraction between two twisted families!”
It is loaded with dialogue that tells you how bizarre its family relationships really are. Take, for instance, this exchange between stepmom Mona Wales and her future daughter-in-law (played with dry humor by Kristen Scott):
Mona: You two won’t be sleeping in the same room.
Kristen: That’s okay!
Mona: In my house, I should be the most important woman in my son’s life, and if I can’t share a bed with him, well, neither can you.
(Kristen’s bemused, faintly disgusted reaction to this response is entertainingly GIF-able. In fact . . . oh yes, we made a GIF of it. Enjoy!)
Though absent from the movie’s cover, the lovely Reagan Foxx also makes an appearance for a stepmom/stepson coupling. (Amusingly, she heralds her entrance with the line “All those lonely men just need a tug and cuddle before the holidays.”) Other sequences include Mona Wales showing exactly why she has nicknamed her stepson “Sucky” (yes, it’s what you’re thinking) and Kristen Scott hooking up with Logan Pierce on a couch.
For (perverse) festive cheer, you can’t go wrong with Family Holiday!
