‘Emma Marx’ Will Return in Upcoming Sequel
Dust off your whip, cat o’ nine tails and cuffs, because Emma Marx is coming back.
Porn’s answer to the 50 Shades BDSM series has begun production on a fourth installment, and director/writer Jacky St. James is excited about where the latest story will go. The full title of this installment, The Submission of Emma Marx: Evolved, hints at the shape of the new narrative. “This is an Emma we have never seen before, a woman exploring life fully outside her comfort zone and helping another woman on her own path to submission. I am thrilled at the opportunity to come back to a film that has become my defining work in this industry. It’s incredibly surreal to have been a part of the Emma Marx evolution — not just on the screen, but in real life,” St. James told AVN. The plot hinges on an interesting role reversal that finds Emma herself (Penny Pax) in the dominant role to an impressionable young submissive. Richie Calhoun, who played the Christian Grey-esque Mr. Frederick in the original trilogy, does not return, but several other cast members do, including Riley Reid as Emma’s sister, Nadia.
In her first feature role, Violet Starr joins the lineup as Emma’s sub, Mariah. “Everyone on set is super delightful to work with. Jacky is a wonderful director with a very unique vision. I find my character to be really spunky and sassy which I love to play! This whole experience has been very memorable. I can’t wait to see the end result,” Starr said.
The original Emma Marx was a groundbreaking award-winner and inspired two sequels, Boundaries and Exposed. The follow-ups were been billed as potential cappers to the story, but St. James always allowed that the characters could have additional potential if the story was right. “I am not sure whether this is the end of the Emma Marx saga. I’d like to think that somewhere, down the road, there is more story to tell,” St. James noted on the release of the second installment.
