Puma Swede Debuts New Art Show in Sweden
The question of whether porn is art has no obvious answer. But when it comes to whether pornstars can make art, the response is clearly an emphatic “yes.” Case in point? Puma Swede‘s new art show, which will debut this weekend in her native Stockholm, Sweden.
A busty MILF with more than a decade of varied experience in the adult industry, Puma proves her versatility once again, this time through mixed-media art. ‘I don’t believe doing one form of art — I do whatever I feel like as long as it’s sexy,” Swede said in a press release published on XBIZ. “In Europe and Sweden there’s been a lot of discussion and debate whether watching porn leads to violence towards women and rape. I want to show there’s a positive place for sex and it’s up to us women how and what we want to use our bodies for. Without sex we wouldn’t even exist. Let people who love sex and nudity enjoy it without shaming each other.”
The themes of her art overlap with her on-camera career. “My art primarily highlights themes related to my personal sexuality, humor and lifestyle,” she said. “My passion for art started at age seven. I used to make paper earrings fastened with thumbtacks. My art came together after I realized how I could combine it with my sexuality. In a way replacing the video camera on my body with a canvas and paint. Sex and nudity are natural and should be shared more openly. I have been working very hard on my art and preparations for this upcoming show. I can’t wait to display it for the world to see the reaction.”
Swede’s interest in art is not new. In fact, she studied interactive media as a college student, but did not find her style coming into its own until she hit on the idea of incorporating themes of sexuality, according to the statement on her show’s official website.
Puma’s not the first star to headline an art show of her own. In fall of 2016, award-winning star Dani Daniels debuted an art exhibit spotlighting a technique called “Iconic Pointillism.” (Read more about Dani’s show here.)
