Prince Yahshua: Pornstar Life Isn’t All Just Wild Parties

What do you picture when you imagine a pornstar’s off-camera lifestyle?

We’re guessing your first thoughts might be images of crazy parties pulled straight from outtakes of a Marc Dorcel orgy movie. Legendary star Prince Yahshua has some news for you, though: when the cameras stop rolling, the pornstar life isn’t all that different from anyone else’s daily routines. “The biggest misconception that the fans have is that we’re having wild coke parties and orgies,” Yahshua told AVN in a recent interview. “I’m sitting in my house with my wife cooking dinner and my son doing his homework.”

Yahshua has compared it to being a policeman. “A cop when he’s on duty, he wears a blue suit and a badge, but when he’s at home he takes that off. He’s not Officer Michaels; he’s Mike,” he said. “Same thing with us. At work, I’m Prince Yahshua. When I’m at home I’m just Prince. I’m Daddy.” When he’s not on the job, family becomes the focus for Yahshua. “I’m not a partier; I don’t go to porn karaoke or the bars or social clubs like everybody. I’m a family man,” he noted.

Other pornstars have expressed similar viewpoints. “One of the most popular opinions is that it’s one big party,” Wicked star Jessica Drake said in 2014. “They think we all drink, we all do drugs and we all have sex with everyone, and that’s really not how it is. I would say the majority of the time, I hesitate to use the word’“normal,’ but we’re pretty normal people.” Meanwhile, in a 2015 interview with The Telegraph, Casey Calvert also blanched at the notion that all pornstars constantly carouse when they are off camera. “When I’m not on set, I’m doing all the things normal people with normal jobs do. I’m certainly not running around banging strangers ‪24/7,” she said.
