Pornstar Hopefuls Learn the Ropes at Quebec’s ‘Porn Academy’

If you thought your school was, uh, hard, just wait till you see the “Porn Academy”! A Quebec-based adult film company has opened an academy to teach potential pornstar recruits all the finer points of porn production.

The idea came to the company when one of their newest male performers had an attack of nerves during one of his first shoots. “”He was nervous, and under a lot of pressure,” company producer Nicola Lafleur told the QMI Agency in an article that appeared in the Toronto Sun. “Perhaps if our course had been around he would have felt more comfortable.”

Applicants were required to submit a “picture of them with an erection.” Fifty pornstar hopefuls applied, but only nine were admitted to the initial class. (With an acceptance rate of 18%, this puts the Porn Academy exactly on par with UC Berkeley. Selective indeed!)

“Our goal,” said Lafleur, “is to give them information that will allow them to know what it’s really like to be a porn star. How much it pays, how often you work, how your health can be affected. We have to dispel all the myths.”

The intensive one-day course covers the theoretical side of porn as well as some of the physical challenges. “Students are allowed to try different sexual positions,” said Lafleur, “but only simulations. We make them wear their underwear.”
