Everyjoe.com Talks To Romi Rain

Romi’s career is on the rise, with her latest releases including Baby Got Boobs Vol. 14 and Prime MILF – it’s safe to say she is one of the top stars in the adult industry. Aside from being incredibly sexy, Romi is also smart and business savvy. Rain tells Everyjoe.com how she got started in the porn industry, what career she would choose if she wasn’t working in adult films and she talks about her favorite scene that she’s filmed so far. EveryJoe: How did you get started in the adult entertainment industry?

Romi Rain: I started modeling a little when I was younger in Boston. As I got older, I loved artistic nudity and erotica, so I got a little into that side of modeling off and on. I also did car/bike shows and was a “booth babe” at conventions like Comic Con. I started exotic dancing and burlesque at 19 after I moved to Los Angeles. I really enjoyed the tease and theatrics of it all, so I stayed in the dancing circuit for a bit.

On camera adult work is something I had thought about for a long time and openly discussed. I’ve always been hyper-sexual, though I’m not the promiscuous type in my personal life and knew I was bisexual since grade school. But I wanted to wait for the right time for me to fully take the plunge. I worked a little for Playboy, shot for Hustler Magazine and started webcaming. Less than a year later my curiosity got the better of me and I started in solo and girl-girl scenes. After I got my feet wet, about three months later, I starting doing boy-girl shoots. I was very pleased with the choice and haven’t looked back since!

EJ: There are plenty of webcam girls out there trying to make the transition into full-fledged porn star. What advice would you give the up-and-comers?

Romi Rain: Do your research and take your time. With how many inside industry interviews, articles, books and TV specials there are out there, there’s little excuse nowadays to dive into hardcore pornography blind. I had read books by performers years before I got involved in adult entertainment.

Remember that most people will want to shoot you having sex on camera but you should want to work with and for the best you can, depending on what you want to do in your career. So it’s important to have a backbone, goals, and a basic knowledge of the sex industry. Take “career advice” only from professionals and those you trust, and even then, go at your own pace because the transition itself will actually be pretty quick. You want to be prepared (and excited!) to go full steam ahead (to an extent… ha ha!) once you take the leap and film your first scenes. Make sure you’re professional, on time and well groomed. The days are longer than most think, so be prepared for real “work days.” Be honest with yourself too… it’s not for everyone; love it or leave it.

EJ: Your resume is impressive and your fans are devoted. What do you think makes Romi Rain special?

Romi Rain: That’s a hard question to answer about yourself! I do very openly care about the “work” part of my job. It’s “just porn” to some folks but it’s a huge business that I take seriously. I show up to sets prepared, lines memorized (if needed), groomed, on time and excited for the day. You have to have a good attitude, respect for the industry and those within it. I also enjoy the sex part of the day immensely. Exploring your own (and others) desires and boundaries, and being challenged is a very exciting, and of course gratifying, experience. I love what I do and I’m so happy that shows.

EJ: What’s your favorite scene you’ve filmed?

Romi Rain: This is so hard to answer, though I love all my work for Jules Jordan Video and Brazzers. Those two companies have probably shot me the most thus far. PornFidelity did a few incredibly awesome and fun scenes with me that I love and Naughty America has my second girl-girl and first boy-girl scenes. The work on my website (RomiRain.com) is also very special since it’s entirely in my control and style. I love when a scene is creative with raw passionate sex and sometimes a little dark… or silly. I have very different sides of me I like to play with.

EJ: Who’s one person that you really want to make a movie with?

Romi Rain: I’d like to try everyone out before I play too many favorites. There are so many fantastic performers that I’d love to work with again and again.

EJ: If you weren’t in the adult industry, what do you think you’d be doing for your career?

Romi Rain: Is burlesque dancing considered adult entertainment? I’d be working in marine biology probably because I started college for it and also had a minor in psychology. I nearly joined the Army at one point too, believe it or not. Several close people in my life are Veterans or are currently deployed in combat/infantry or Marines. Oorah!

EJ: What are some things we’d be surprised to learn about you?

Romi Rain: I’m a homebody with a goofy and sarcastic sense of humor, and I believe most people need to loosen up. I love getting my makeup and hair done but hardly ever wear it on an off-day. I’m kind of a tomboy considering how much I love to work out until soaked and shoot guns. Also, I spend more money on good food than clothes. I’m Italian, good food is everything!
