Eli Cross Returns to the Director’s Chair with ‘The Pornographer’
They’re back!
Eli Cross and Kylie Ireland have made a high-profile return to their original claims to fame in The Pornographer from Wicked Pictures. Cross directs an adult feature for the first time since 2011, while classic ’90 star Ireland is given her juiciest role and scenes in years (including anal with James Deen in a perfect crossover of two porn generations).
Deen plays the evocatively named Woody Salinger, a director who is struggling to make the shift from monster movies to nudie flicks in the turmoil of the 1960s. The slightly nebby character gives Deen a chance to play up the guy-next-door, geek chic vibe that has served him so well in many of his previous, star-making features. Kimberly Kane, Amber Rayne and Katie Summers also show up in supporting roles.
Although the current vogue for retro cool is pushing itself to the edge of overexposure, The Pornographer sidesteps such concerns with a humorous tone, so we say, welcome back, Eli!
