At the very least, Tosh Porn Oh successfully recreates the look and style of the successful thirty-minute TV show, hosted by stand-up comedian Daniel Tosh. The idea of distilling and condensing the immense number of fail and embarrassing online videos into an ongoing joke-ridden series allows for the general public (particularly those who don’t spend 16 hours a day meandering through the internet) to see what the online fuss is all about. It’s like a Reader’s Digest version of viral videos filled with MST3K-like commentary. (And just when are we going to see a porno version of the Satellite Of Lust?)
Parodying pop culture phenomena like the Star Wars kid, Leroy Jenkins, the “What What (In The Butt)” song, Tosh Porn Oh takes these videos to a carnal finale which may not necessarily be logical, but certainly makes them more interesting. As a result the viewer is treated to a variety of sexual situations, like hottie India Summer using her feminine charms on Xander Convus who is caught undergoing Padawan training with her light-saber sized dildo. Instead of being publicly humiliated for his geeky antics, the young man is rewarded immeasurably by his MILF-y partner. Later Skin Diamond gets appropriately backdoored by Mr. Vegas after delivering her equally mind-numbing version of the popular anal-themed tune.
Ironically, perhaps the most infamous of all viral videos, namely “Two Girls One Cup” is reenacted with Heather Starlet and Rachel Roxxx in a version which is as inoffensive and as run-of-the-mill as porn gets (especially considering the rather freaky acts found in the original). They start off playing around with some spilled milk shake, but that is abandoned as the girls turn to each other with the predictable carpet-munching and wielding of a pink dildo. The lesbian action is fine, but not nearly as jaw-dropping (for better or for worse) than the original inspiration.
If you’re a fan of Daniel Tosh’s humor (and I admit to getting a few laughs out of his frequent witticisms), then keep your expectations low for Michael Vegas’s rather flat delivery of the otherwise flamboyant comedian. The problem here is that the hardcore footage unavoidably extends the program to lengths greater than the fast-paced, half-hour TV show. Thus, the already shaky jokes and gags feel a lot more strained and tired over a two-hour stretch. Nevertheless, the fast-forward button allows me to skip the monologues and jump into the main attractions, like Lily LaBeau’s tryst with Dane Cross, and Georgia Jones solo performance with a sex toy.
One last note: I admit to wincing pretty hard upon seeing the cameo presence of Ron Jeremy, who is mercifully held at bay for an opening ninety second spot, but then returns when an old video of him self-fellating is played in a loop. “You can’t unsee that!” declares Mr. Vegas gleefully, and indeed, such images are now permanently implanted in my memory bank. While Mr. Jeremy’s ability to suck his own member is near legendary, I had always successfully avoided seeing him perform that act until Tosh Porn Oh. And for that, I don’t thank anyone.
